How we research and test

  1. Start with primary sources. macOS behaviour, limits, and support instructions are checked against current Apple documentation. Product features and prices are checked against the vendor's own current pages.
  2. Reproduce practical steps when possible. Paths, commands, and settings flows are checked on macOS before publication. When a guide is source-based rather than hands-on, it must not present an inferred result as a measured one.
  3. Separate facts from judgment. Documented behaviour, SwoopByte interpretation, and estimates are labelled distinctly. We do not turn one Search Console impression, one anecdote, or one benchmark into a universal conclusion.
  4. Review destructive actions for safety. Cleanup and uninstall guidance defaults to preview-first, reversible steps. Cloud-synced folders, shared containers, system files, and privileged helpers receive explicit warnings.
  5. Date comparisons. Competitor pricing, availability, and capabilities can change. Comparison pages record their review date and link to checkable sources.

Product status

No SwoopByte app has a public download as of 2026-08-01. Product pages describe work in development and collect early-access interest. A product is described as available only after a signed, notarized build has a real public download.

Planned features and pricing are labelled as plans, not shipped facts. Product claims are checked against the repository's authoritative product-facts record before publication.

AI-assisted drafting

Automation may help gather a brief, structure a draft, or identify sections that need evidence. It is not treated as a source. Published claims still require source checking, product-status validation, and editorial approval by the SwoopByte Editorial Team.

Corrections

If a fact, path, price, or product-status statement is wrong, we correct the page and update its modified date. Material corrections should replace the inaccurate claim rather than quietly preserve it in another generated surface.

To report a correction, email [email protected] with the page URL and the source that supports the change.
